CarbonCoin Helps to Save the Planet
You’ve heard of BitCoin, right?
In case you don’t know, BitCoin is a “virtual” currency – you can buy and sell goods with BitCoin instead of traditional money like Dollars or Euros. No banks are involved, and all transactions are done electronically and securely. BitCoin is international and its price fluctuates, just like normal currencies.
Many companies accept payment for their goods via BitCoin as well as via credit cards, PayPal etc. When a business gets paid with a credit card, the bank or credit card institution deducts a handling fee – BitCoin does too, but it’s less than the credit card fees.
You can buy BitCoin, and people buy and sell BitCoin like any other investment, hoping that they buy it at a low price and sell it at a higher price.

People who provide the computing power are called miners, and they make a profit. This mining gobbles up a massive amount of electricity. Most electricity comes from fossil fuels. The more BitCoin grows, the more damage is done to the environment. The higher the price of BitCoin, the more the planet suffers.
So, BitCoin is adding to our climate change, pollution and environmental problems.

If you sell goods online or via your mobile phone, tell your customers you accept CarbonCoin.

I love carbon coin as an idea.. though my concerns are just that its “just another coin” in the Alt coin market…. what exactly does it do differently as a technology? I know there could be a lot of trees planted in its name but that will only happen if there is mass adoption of coin…and really if the tech is the same “old” blockchian principle then the fact that its transparent and slightly anonymous probably won’t be enough to get mass adoption without a MASSIVE Marketing drive – WHICH KINDA GOES AGAINST THE WHOLE PRINCIPLE – of decentralizing systems….I really hope i’m wrong….(oh and sorry for shouting)! :}
