Eco-Friendly Book Giveaway

WIN one of three great books full of eco-friendly ideas!

Sorry, this competition is now Closed

We are four friends with eco-friendly blogs, and we want to say “thank you” to our loyal readers!  So we have organised 3 great books that have inspired us, and you can win one!

The four of us live in different places and have different approaches to our personal sustainability goals – so we all bring something different into the mix.  This is a chance to get to know all of us and make some connections, with the potential for free books.  What could be better?

    • Hi Anastasia, thanks for entering the Great Green Give-away competition. I wish you good luck! Hopefully one of these beautiful books will soon grace your shelves.

  • Thank you for hosting the book giveaway! Especially as it brought me to your practical site full of small changes we can make.

    • Hi Karen, thanks for visiting the EcoExpert site and entering the Great Green Give-away competition,. Good luck!

  • I am interested in greater sustainability in a mobile lifestyle, and I’m always looking for small ideas that can help. We live in a motorhome, which is wonderful in many ways, but makes many traditional sustainability ideas impractical.

Thanks for the giveaway! I came over from Highly Uncivilized.

    • Wow, you live in a motorhome – how cool is that! I shall start including tips for a mobile lifestyle in some of my blogs – as you say, some sustainability ideas simply don’t work, but others can. Thanks for sharing, and good luck in the Great Green Give-away competition!

  • I was seraching for some homesteading info while blogging about my dreams for an urban homestead,a nd cam across you and the other contest hosts. How exciting. I would love some help in the form of a recommended book!

  • Clare, this is a great idea to give away the eco friendly books here on your site.
    Scott Sylvan Bell

  • Those books look great and would definitely be chock full of great ideas and ways of being ECO friendly! Sure wouldn’t mind getting one of those! 😉

  • Hi there :)! I am familiar with Jess’ site… what a neat way to discover three new ones!

I recently moved from Washington State to Hawaii, and now that we are getting settled in (it’s been three months) I am taking a hard look at how we are settling in… what new choices we can make in our new life here.

    Anyways, thanks for the opportunity!

    • Hi Noelle, thank you for entering! That’s quite a move! (We were discussing Hawaii in my blog about Bees recently). A year ago I moved to a tiny tropical island – my choices are seriously reduced from when I lived in a big city but I now live a much more sustainable life. There are always lots of easy hints and tips for a more eco-friendly lifestyle here on my EcoExpert Blog. Good luck in the competition!

  • Shamelessly entering myself to win a free book, haha
    But definitely awesome blog,

I’ve been trying to pick up some books on urban farming/gardening/sustainable living lately,
    I just can’t get enough!

I’ll be following all three blogs from now on, glad I stumbled upon them

    • We’re happy you’ve stumbled upon us! The books are all really good reads, so good luck in the competition! Thanks for your comments!

  • I would love any of the books listed. I’ve been making a lot of changes in my life…books that have inspired me include The Soil and Health by Sir Albert Howard, The One-Straw Revolution by Masanobu Fukuoka, and The Monkey Wrench Gang by Edward Abbey. I am always looking for the next good book–so thank you for sharing not only these titles, but an opportunity to win the books themselves!

    • Great choices – Soil and Health is pretty much the classic work on organic gardening, and Fukuoka is a permaculture pioneer – I wonder if his maxim still holds true (that just over an acre of arable land farmed naturally would feed one family). Thanks Zoe for entering the Great Green Give-away, and good luck!

  • My parents and I have been working on their garden and I’m trying to introduce permaculture ideas to the project. We could really use these books!

    • Hi Kyle, glad to read you want to introduce permaculture and sustainable ideas to help become more independent! Thank you for entering, and good luck in the competition!

  • Great idea this, great way to draw more attention to the importance of re-establishing a sense of immediacy with our surroundings. As an urban farmer of sorts in Brooklyn NY, so happy to see how many of us care.

  • What Fantabulous giveaways! I am always looking to increase my knowledge and learn from others. I dont have any of these books! Good luck all!

  • Thank you for bravely pushing for more aesthetically pleasing, more sensible, less soul-assaulting landscaping! I’m with you in spirit, but imprisoned in an HOA with this rule (and, of course, many, many more):
No trees, shrubs, hedges, or bushes, or planting of any kind except grass shall be planted or maintained in any of the area known as street parking in front of the property lines as shown on the plat of Southmoor Park.
    ARRGH!
