If you love the great outdoors, you’ll love Yeti!  Based in Austin, Texas, Yeti is a manufacturer of outdoor lifestyle products such as soft coolers, ice chests, and other related accessories.

The most popular product is the Yeti Tundra series, which ranges from 20 to 350 quarts in size. This series allows you to lock it with two padlocks, making it bear-resistant.

During the holiday season, people hunt for deals and research discounted products. Most manufacturers offer discounted deals during Black Friday and Cyber Monday.

In fact, Black Friday and Cyber Monday record the most substantial shopping records since 2008. Almost all outlets have their own black Friday and Cyber Monday sales.

  • I love your environment newsletters Clare. Keep them coming. But this issue was ‘interesting’ as in one snippet you were advocating ‘buy less’ but then the next article was on buying Black Friday deals!!!
    Slight contradiction???

    • Thanks for your comment and yes, I see where you’re coming from.
Here’s how I look at it.

None of us can avoid buying things. (Well, I suppose if you’re a Buddhist Monk, or a hermit…..). For the rest of us, we must buy what we need.

My problem is with the consistent “buy, buy, buy” mantra of consumerism. So that people end up with 47 pairs of (nearly identical) black court shoes. 93 blue ties. A dress worn once, shown off on Instagram, and another new item bought next week. The drive to always buy a bigger and bigger house – and fill it with more and more “stuff”. A new smartphone – you still have 4 that work, but the new one has a better “gadget” somewhere.

But buying things you need isn’t a problem – quality products that last and aren’t disposable rubbish. And if you’re buying items that make it easier / more comfortable to be spending time with Nature, then I’m in favour of buying. Because we won’t protect what we don’t know. And we need to protect Nature.
