March 30th, 2019 – Switch Off for Earth Hour!

See The Amazing Things YOU Can Do for Earth Hour 2019!

earth hour 2019, march 30, 2019 celebrate!

You care about the planet. You “do your bit” for the environment. You’re worried about climate change and our future. So, make note of Saturday, March 30th, 2019. It’s all about People Power. Because at 8:30pm (your local time), you can show you care, by celebrating Earth Hour.

What’s Earth Hour All About?

Earth Hour is now the world’s largest grassroots movement for the environment, inspiring millions of people to take action for our planet and nature.

Earth Hour pushes for environmentally-friendly laws and policies, crowdfunds for a better future, and more, all co-ordinated by WWF and other volunteer organisations. Earth Hour’s greatest strength is the power of people.

As accelerating climate change and staggering biodiversity loss threaten our planet, Earth Hour 2019 will focus on never-before-had conversations on the loss of nature and the urgent need to protect it.

Most of the resources we use come from the environment. That’s why we have to do our part to protect the world around us!

How Can I Celebrate Earth Hour 2019?

You can celebrate Earth Hour in any way you want. It’s entirely up to you!

But the first thing to do is to sign up (here — it’s free and easy) and then talk about it on social media so others can sign up too.

Here are some ideas for the 30th March – but be creative, and think outside the box too, for your own ideas.

  • See if you can switch to clean energy.
  • If you own or work for a hotel or guest house:-
    • Switch off your external, signage and non-essential lighting

    • Arrange children’s lantern-making classes finishing with a lantern night walk
    • Organise a glow-in-the-dark dance performance or painting session
    • Create a special ‘Earth Hour’ menu featuring local organic and sustainable produce cooked with energy saving methods
