Go Green with Great Fathers Day Gift Ideas
Fathers’ Day is a great way to show your appreciation for someone special in your life. However, it has become quite commercial.
Luckily, you can show you care, and spoil your Dad and Grandad without spoiling the planet.
Here are some great green and eco-friendly suggestions and ideas for Fathers Day gifts. Read on!
Fathers Day Gift Ideas – Quality Time
Fathers Day is the perfect day to spend some quality time with your Dad. Hike, play ball in the park, swim, surf, sail, play tennis, stroll, visit a historical site…….. whatever it is that you would both like to do, get outside and spend time with him, catching up and just chatting and having fun.
For example, my nephew spent Fathers’ Day weekend with his Dad – they hiked and then climbed Ben Nevis (the highest mountain in the UK). It’s far too strenuous for me, but I think it’s super that they’re doing this together.
In my opinion, spending good times with Dad is the best way to please him and to show you care.
Fathers Day Gift Ideas – The Gift of Time
Another great option is to do something for him – perhaps some chores that he hates to do, or complete some maintenance around his home. You would be giving him the gift of time, and time is very precious.
Write or print the details of your gift on nice paper or a card. For a different presentation, you could roll it up like an old-fashioned scroll and tie it with a ribbon.
Fathers Day Gift Ideas – Experiences
If your Dad enjoys adrenaline-filled adventures, then make sure he enjoys one for Fathers Day. Even better, go and have fun with him!
“Experience gifts” are where you pay to enjoy a particular experience – and there’s a HUGE choice. You can choose from adventures such as race car driving, hot air ballooning, zip-lining, golf lessons or sky diving. Or opt for something quieter like a picnic all set up for you, or a tour of a historic building or a romantic dinner. Or hire a sports car for a day….. the list is endless.
I like experience gifts because most of them are eco friendly. You’re not contributing to “stuff” and you’re adding to memories.
Just search Google for experience gifts and your country or area and you’ll get lots of results.
