Bedroom Changes for Perfect Sleep – Part II
4. Allergies:
Do you find yourself waking up with a blocked nose or a headache? There may be something in the bedroom which is irritating you. Choose natural, organic bedding, drapes and furniture, and consider a natural latex mattress. Make sure you let plenty of fresh air into the room.
5. Colour:
Bedrooms in calming hues are best for sleep. Taupe, grey, beige and white are all good colours. Use splashes of colour in your décor and bedding (e.g. a pillow or picture) for individuality. Shades that are close together on the colour wheel are better for relaxation than contrasting colours. And of course you’ll want to use low-VOC or zero-VOC paint for better health.
6. Clutter:
If your bedroom is cluttered, it can affect your sleep patterns. Rid yourself of any items in the bedroom that don’t serve a positive purpose. Don’t let your closets or dressers overflow. And keep the floor area clear.
